Vietnam attends Berlin International Tourism Fair

Nearly 30 Vietnamese firms, led by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) are participating in the International Tourism Fair ITB, which opened in Berlin on March 6.

Under the framework of the 2013 National Tourism Promotion Programme, VNAT will promote the image of Vietnam as a peaceful, hospitable and attractive destination to tourism markets in Germany and other EU member nations.

This year’s five-day fair involving over 10,000 tourism firms from 188 countries and territories across the world is expected to greet around 170,000 visitors.

Addressing the opening ceremony, German Chancellor Angela Merkel described ITB as “a gate to the world”.

She expressed her hope that the exhibitors would win many contracts and attract large crowds to their pavilions.
