According to data from Agoda’s ‘Europe to Asia Summer Travel Trends’, based on accommodation searches for July and August, Vietnam ranked fifth, following Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, and Malaysia. This is the first time Vietnam has entered the top five, signaling growing interest from European markets.

Agoda reveals that the top five European countriessearching for travel to Vietnam this summer are France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, and Norway. Notably, Russia and Norway have replaced the Netherlands and Spain from last year’s list, thanks in part to the resumption of direct flights and Vietnam’s visa exemption policy for both countries.

Beyond these key markets, Vietnam is also gaining traction in emerging European countries. Search volumes from Hungary surged by 320% year-on-year, followed by Turkey up 288% and Poland up 153%, highlighting Vietnam’s expanding appeal across the continent.

When it comes to specific destinations, European travellers are showing the most interest in Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi. These cities offer a mix of coastal escapes, cultural experiences, and urban vibrancy, that reflect the diverse travel preferences of European tourists.
