Vietnam among 12 global destinations worth travelling in 2026
VOV.VN - Vietnam has been highlighted among Asia’s most compelling travel destinations for 2026, thanks to the country’s unique blend of natural beauty, vibrant culture, affordability, and football passion as key reasons for travelers to visit.
In a recent feature by Australian travel writer Cheyenne Bradley for Australian travel company Luxury Escapes, Vietnam ranked sixth on a list of 12 global destinations offering travelers a reason to book for summer 2026, a period expected to see heightened global travel demand due to major international events including the FIFA World Cup 2026 in North America.
According to Bradley, Vietnam is a destination that continues to surprise visitors even on a second trip, thanks to the country’s remarkable diversity of experiences stretching from north to south.
The article highlighted cruises through the limestone seascape of Ha Long Bay, the bustling motorbike-filled streets of Hanoi, the lantern-lit riverside atmosphere of Hoi An.
“From the sizzling street food of Saigon to the misty mountains of Sapa, every corner of Vietnam offers something uniquely captivating, all at a fraction of the cost of many other destinations”, the travel writer noted.
Bradley pointed to favourable travel periods across different regions, with central Vietnam, including Hoi An, Da Nang and Hue, being driest from February to April, while northern destinations such as Hanoi and Ha Long Bay are best visited between October and April.
The feature positioned Vietnam alongside some of the world’s most sought-after destinations for 2026, including Spain, Japan, Greece, Malta, New Zealand, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines.
