Private cars will be able to travel between Vietnam’s Mong Cai Town and China’s Dongxing City in a move to boost tourism between the two countries, a new rule says.
Quang Ninh Province authorities will coordinate with the Ministry of Transport to provide detailed regulations on the policy. Chinese cars will not be allowed to leave Mong Cai for other cities and provinces in Vietnam.

According to Quang Ninh authorities, each side will appoint a tourism agency to help drivers with relevant procedures. In Vietnam, Hong Gai Tourism and Services JSC will be in charge in Mong Cai.
Cars eligible under the plan include those of up to nine seats. Tourists have to come in groups of multiple cars.
The plan will be launched for a one-year trial.
