Vietnam Airlines resumes Hong Kong – Ho Chi Minh City route
VOV.VN - Vietnam Airlines flight VN 595 departing from Hong Kong (China) touched down at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City, on March 30, marking the first regular flight between the two destinations after a one-year suspension.

In the initial phase, the national flag carrier of Vietnam will operate this route with a frequency of one flight per day, using the next-generation Airbus A321 aircraft., according to Nguyen Minh Toan, head of the Vietnam Airlines Branch in Hong Kong.
Vietnam Airlines began operating flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam and Hong Kong in November 1991. Over more than 33 years, the airline has served over 5.7 million passengers on more than 46,000 flights to and from Hong Kong International Airport.
The airline had to temporarily suspend this route during the COVID-19 pandemic and afterward, due to unfavorable external factors.
Toan says, the airline is restoring the Hong Kong–Ho Chi Minh City route as part of the national flag carrier’s broader plan to open and resume 15 international routes to key destinations, including Italy, Russia, Denmark, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The resumption of this route not only strengthens Vietnam Airlines’ position on international routes but also realizes the airline’s strategy to expand its network and enhance operational efficiency. This will facilitate easier travel for businesspeople, investors, and tourists between Vietnam and Hong Kong, thereby promoting business, trade, and cultural exchanges between Vietnam, Hong Kong, and other countries in the region and the rest of the world.
