Vietnam Airlines Group adds over 650,000 seats for 2025 Lunar New Year

VOV.VN - Vietnam Airlines Group, which comprises of Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO), has announced an additional capacity of over 650,000 seats, equivalent to nearly more than 3,000 flights, for the peak Lunar New Year (Tet) season from January 13 to February 12, 2025.

These figures will bring its totals to 2.15 million seats and 11,000 flights during the festive period.

The additional flights will mostly be operated on routes connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Nha Trang, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Vinh, Hue, Thanh Hoa, Quy Nhon, Pleiku, Chu Lai, and Dong Hoi.

According to a representative of Vietnam Airlines, on major routes like from Ho Chi Minh City to both northern and central provinces, the average seat occupancy has already reached between 70% and 80%. The number of passengers is expected to continue to increase significantly moving forward.

Vietnam Airlines Group also plans to lease an additional four Airbus A320/A321 aircraft, including two wet-leased planes with crew. Each aircraft is expected to operate a total of 180 flights during the peak Tet period ahead in 2025.

Passengers are therefore encouraged to plan and book their tickets early. To avoid counterfeit or overpriced tickets during the peak travel season, customers should purchase their tickets through official websites, mobile apps, ticket offices, and authorised agents.
