Vietnam Airlines flights to Phu Quoc promotes starfish protection message

VOV.VN - National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines used flights to Phu Quoc island city on April 15 and April 16 to mark the launch of activities aimed at protecting local starfish.

When boarding the flights, passengers noticed that the cloth of each seat features a cover bearing a message of the need to protect starfish. In addition to this crew members urged passengers to protect starfish while handing out special gifts to each person onboard the flights.

Hundreds of keychains in the shape of a starfish were given to passengers, with each gift sending a message of protecting starfish.

This comes after a lot of photos have recently been posted on social media, showing many dead starfish being taken ashore for selfies by visitors on Phu Quoc island. This situation has raised alarm among tourists, with special flights recently conducted by Vietnam Airlines helping to change the actions of tourists and to raise public awareness.

Last year saw the national flag carrier conduct approximately 5,000 flights, carrying 1.5 million passengers to Phu Quoc island city.
