Vietjet officially launches direct flights from New Delhi and Mumbai to Da Nang
VOV.VN - Local budget-airline Vietjet officially launched two direct flights from the Indian cities of New Delhi and Mumbai to Da Nang from October 18, according to the Da Nang Department of Tourism.
The department outlined that the first two flights have marked an important milestone to further connect the coastal city of Da Nang with India.
Specifically, flight number VJ984 departed from Mumbai on October 17 at 23:30 p.m. before landing in Da Nang at 6:10 a.m. on October 18, while flight VJ830 will depart from New Delhi on October 18 before landing in Da Nang at 5:40 a.m. on October 19.
Vietjet Air is expected to operate the Mumbai - Da Nang route using an Airbus A320 aircraft with a frequency of three flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, as well as running four flights per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and, Sundays on the New Delhi - Da Nang route.
Furthermore, a launching ceremony to mark the opening of the Da Nang - New Delhi and Da Nang – Mumbai routes was also held at 15:00 p.m. on October 18 at Da Nang International Airport Departure Terminal, featuring the attendance of leaders from of the Da Nang People's Committee, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, and relevant agencies.
The first passengers from Mumbai and New Delhi are expected to be welcomed by local authorities at Da Nang International Airport on the morning of October 18 and October 19.
The airline is expected to release a short video to introduce typical destinations in the city on October 23 and plans to open more direct flights to Ahmedabad in India, with this scheduled for December to diversify the source of tourists coming from major Indian cities.
