Tourists visiting Quang Nam skyrocket compared to 2021

VOV.VN - The central province of Quang Nam's tourism industry has gradually recovered this year as the country moves into the post-COVID period, with the locality welcoming approximately 4.75 million visitors so far this year, representing a 13-fold rise compared to 2021.

In relation to the figure, the number of foreign arrivals reached 634,000, a 36-fold rise against the same period from last year, whilst the number of domestic tourists stood at an estimated 4.1 million, marking a 12-fold increase on-year.

As the host of the National Tourism Year 2022 with the theme of "Quang Nam green tourism destination”, the locality has organised a series of special events as part of its wider strategy to attract both domestic and foreign tourists.

Furthermore, the local tourism industry has exerted great efforts as it  has introduced a series of green tourism products after more than two years of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most notably, in the remaining days of the year, the locality continues to organise major international activities, including the closing programme of the National Tourism Year - Quang Nam 2022, the opening of the National Year of Start-up - Quang Nam 2023, the Spring Festival 2023, and the ASEAN Music Festival as it seeks to stimulate tourism demand.

Tran Van Tan, vice chairman of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, pointed out that along with drastic measures aimed at restoring tourism activities, the locality has ramped up co-operation in terms of tourism development, improved tourism products, and designed fresh products to meet the growing green tourism trend.
