Sun PhuQuoc Airways to launch Hanoi-Shanghai route from Nov. 26
VOV.VN - Just six weeks after launching its Ho Chi Minh City–Shanghai route, Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) is set to add a direct connection between the Vietnamese capital and the Chinese commercial hub.
The new service is to expand SPA’s China network and make Shanghai the first destination in the market served directly from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The Hanoi–Shanghai route is operated by the airline SPA using Airbus A321neo aircraft. Flight 9G674 will depart from Noi Bai International Airport at 23:05 and arrive at Pudong International Airport at 03:00 the following morning.
The return flight, 9G675, will leave Shanghai at 4.15am and land in Hanoi at 6.55am, local time.
The inaugural flight from Hanoi is scheduled to take off on November 26, with the return service from Shanghai commencing on November 27.
To mark the launch of ticket sales, Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) is offering a 20% discount on the base fare for the Hanoi–Shanghai route, excluding taxes and fees. This promotion applies to tickets issued between October 31 and November 30. Passengers in China can book flights, make payments, and complete the check-in process online via the SPA website or mobile app, using payment methods widely used in the Chinese market, such as WeChat Pay, Alipay, and UnionPay.
China is among the international markets SPA has been developing during its first year of operations. The airline launched routes connecting Chengdu with Phu Quoc and Ho Chi Minh City in July and August 2026, respectively.
On October 15, it inaugurated the Ho Chi Minh City–Shanghai route. The upcoming Hanoi–Shanghai service will become its fourth route to China, further connecting Vietnam's two major aviation gateways with one of the region's most dynamic economic centres.
The new route comes as SPA enters its second year of operations. Since its inaugural flights connecting Phu Quoc, the airline has expanded its network to 13 domestic and 16 international routes.
