Son Doong listed as one of nine otherworldly destinations
VOV.VN - Son Doong Cave has been featured in the list of nine destinations which feel like they belong on another planet, as compiled by UK magazine Wanderlust.

It is difficult to comprehend the sheer size of Son Doong Cave in Vietnam. The world’s largest cave stretches for nearly nine km long and could fit an entire New York city block inside with room to spare, the UK media wrote.
Some of the world’s tallest stalagmites have been found here, towering at 80 m high, and the cave is also home to a subterranean river, it added.
Tourists can visit the caves on multi-day tours, but visitor numbers are limited, so you may need to book a travelers’ trip up to a year in advance, Wanderlust shared.
Salar de Uyuni of Bolivia, the world’s largest salt flat at more than 10,500 sq km, tops the global list. It is followed by Socotra, an island off the coast of Yemen, and Namibia, a brilliant destination to visit for wildlife lovers.
Rounding off the list of is Puna de Atacama in Argentina, New Mexico’s White Sands National Park in the United States, Lençóis Maranhenses National Park in Brazil, Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park in Madagascar, and Vatnajökull National Park in Iceland.
