The city's tourism department announced on October 22 eight winning products of its souvenir design contest.
The products, including handmade purses and wallets and a pop-up book, have been described as creative and useful.
Selected from 66 entries, the winning products are also affordable and easy to carry, the website reported.
La Quoc Khanh, vice director of Ho Chi Minh City's tourism department, was quoted as saying that more and more foreign tourists are coming to the city, but it is difficult for them to find products that are representative of the city.
He hoped the winning products will help promote the city and encourage visitors to spend more on souvenirs.
Official figures showed 3.2 million foreigners visited the city in the first nine months, up 5% from the same period last year. It reported over VND69.1 trillion (US$3.05 billion) in tourism revenues, an increase of 6%.
Titled "Pop-up, Saigon streets," the book introduces famous buildings in Ho Chi Minh City. |
