RoK visitors to Da Nang bounce back
VOV.VN - The number tourists from the Republic of Korean (RoK) visiting the central coastal city of Da Nang have recently rebounded after local airlines resumed direct flights between Incheon and Da Nang.
RoK remains Da Nang’s leading tourist market, with the central city welcoming five film crews, TV channels such as SBS, IHQ, and partners, along with a number of famous Korean stars since the beginning of the year.
Most notably, the RoK took the lead in terms of the top three international markets to the city in the 2015 to 2019 period, surpassing both China and Japan.
Last year witnessed tourists from the RoK reach nearly one million, accounting for about 50% of the total number of international visitors to the central city and doubling the number of Chinese arrivals.
From now until the end of the year, Da Nang has initiated plans to reopen a number of direct flights to the RoK’s cities such as Incheon, Busan, Daegu, and Chongju.
Nguyen Xuan Binh, deputy director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, revealed that the locality has deployed numerous tourism promotion activities while simultaneously co-ordinating with the RoK Consulate General in Da Nang, as well as Korean travel firms and media agencies, to organise similar events in the future.
