Quang Tri welcomes cruise tourists

VOV.VN - On April 8, Quang Tri province’s People Committee hosted a welcome ceremony to mark the arrival of cruise ship Paromara II, which docked at Hop Thanh Port with 60 foreign tourists and crew members on board to visit the locality.

The tourists are mostly from the United States, Canada, and Australia. The visit marks the first time that the luxury cruise ship has docked in the central province of Quang Tri.

During the ceremony, crew members and tourists expressed their delight at the hospitality shown to them by the province’s leaders and residents. The guests received plenty of souvenirs, gifts, and flowers from local authorities.

As planned, the delegation will enjoy a one-day tour of the area to gain an insight into two historical relic sites in Quang Tri province including the Vinh Moc tunnel in Vinh Linh district and Ta Con airport in the mountainous district of Huong Hoa.

During their stay, crew members and visitors will be introduced to cultural characteristics, tourist attractions, and historic sites that can be found throughout tthe province such as Hien Luong bridge on the Ben Hai river, Quang Tri ancient citadel, Road No 9 and Truong Son National Cemeteries which are home to more than 20,000 martyrs.

Previously, the delegation had visited the central coastal city of Danang before stopping at Quang Tri province.
