Quang Ninh welcomes first foreign tourist group via Mong Cai border gate
VOV.VN - As many as 38 Chinese tourists completed customs clearance procedures to enter Vietnam on the morning of March 15 through Mong Cai International Border Gate in the northern province of Quang Ninh.
According to their schedule, the group will visit several popular spots during their four-day tour in Mong Cai, Ha Long Bay, and Hanoi.
Duong Loi, a tour guide of Than Chau Travel Company, said that the Mong Cai, in Vietnam, and Dongxing, in China, International Border Gates officially opened for international tourists on March 15.
Moving forward, she added that the company will take Chinese holiday-goers to visit other famous tourist destinations in the central city of Da Nang and south-central coastal province of Khanh Hoa.
Leaders of Mong Cai city and representatives from travel agencies also arrived at the border gate in order to present flowers to the first Chinese tourist group after China reopened its borders to travellers after three years of COVID-19 closure.
According to the Mong Cai International Border Gate Management Board, as of 11 a.m. on March 15, the number of people entering and leaving the country through the Mong Cai border gate has reached 1,263. Of the total, 632 people entered while 604 left the country.
