Quang Ninh aims to receive 5.5 million tourists in Q1 and Q2
VOV.VN - With a wide range of events set for the upcoming summer, especially during national holidays, the northern province of Quang Ninh is anticipated to welcome 5.5 million tourists during the second quarter and third quarter of the year.
Most notably, travel firms and accommodation facilities based in the locality have made thorough preparations to receive both local and international arrivals.
Tran Hoan, a representative of Vietrantour travel company, said the firm has conducted tours for large delegations of between 300 people and 500 people, adding that it has received a number of bookings aimed at bringing tourists back to Quang Ninh over the next three months.
Nguyen Van Phuong of Ha Long Cruise Lines Association said that aside from upgrading hundreds of wooden cruise ships, local businesses have also built roughly 50 new ships featuring modern equipment which aim to bring comfort and a new experience to visitors.
Phuong added that all newly-built ships have been fully booked for the occasion of the upcoming four-day holiday which marks National Reunification Day on April 30 and International Labour Day on May 1.
Huynh Phan Phuong Hoang, deputy general director of tour operator Vietravel, emphasised that the firm has strengthened connectivity with tourist attractions, hotel chains, restaurants, and shopping malls to offer convenient package tours for all tourists.
Currently, Quang Ninh is among the top five destinations selected by domestic and international tourists due to its advantages of famous landscapes, such as Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as new forms of spiritual and health care tourism.
Through a string of activities which will be held on national holidays, such as the Ha Long carnival, an Ao Dai (traditional long dress) festival, and the 31st SEA Games, Quang Ninh is projected to welcome 10 million visitors, including 1.5 million foreign arrivals, this year.
