Quang Nam pledges to curb COVID-19 for National Tourism Year 2022
VOV.VN - The central province of Quang Nam has committed to containing the COVID-19 pandemic in order to successfully organise the 2022 National Tourism Year which is scheduled to take place on March 25.
This information was unveiled by Tran Van Tan, vice chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, at a press conference held on February 23.
Running with the theme of "Quang Nam - A green tourism destination", the National Tourism Year 2022 will include a total of 192 events and activities, with the highlights being river tours, programmes on the cultural tourism of ethnic groups, the legendary Ho Chi Minh trail as well as heritage sites throughout the locality.
Nguyen Thanh Hong, director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasised that the locality has issued a set of green tourism criteria for travel firms, accommodation facilities, restaurants, and destinations, as well as launching green tourism products specifically for tourists.
Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet expressed his belief that the opening ceremony of the 2022 National Tourism Year will serve to create greater opportunities for domestic and international tourism activities to flourish moving forward.
Furthermore, through the event, the province’s tourism potential will be fully tapped into and elevated, thereby contributing to turning the local tourism sector into a spearhead economic industry.
