Quang Binh targets 3.3 mil visitors in 2016

VOV.VN - The central province of Quang Binh set a target of attracting some 3.3 million visitors this year through discovery trips to Son Doong cave and homestay and farmstay models which are popular with foreign tourists. 

The target was announced at an April 11 conference on Quang Binh’s investment and tourism promotion in Hanoi.

In his speech, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) Deputy Head Ha Van Sieu underlined the need to improve local tourism product quality and services and step up the training of highly- skilled human resource as the better way to boost local tourism.

“The major focus should be given to discovery trips to Son Doong Cave to turn it a power drive of the provincial socio-economic development. The upcoming Vietnam International Travel Mart 2016 (VITM) will give Quang Binh a good chance to elevate its image to international visitors,” Sieu added.


Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Tien Dung said apart from eco and maritime tourism, the locality should further develop farmstay and homestay models. 

To reach the target for 3.3 million visitors this year, the province will continue increasing the quality of tourism products and services and upgrade transport infrastructure facilities, Dung said.
