Quang Binh receives inaugural international flight from Taipei
VOV.VN - Dong Hoi Airport in the central province of Quang Binh welcomed the first international flight from Taipei, (Taiwan, China) on March 31, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Specifically, the flight VJ7173 operated by VietJet Air carrying 38 passengers departed from Taipei at 4:40 p.m. and landed at Dong Hoi airport in Quang Binh province at 7:40 p.m.
Earlier, flight VJ7172 with 90 passengers aboard also took off from Dong Hoi Airport at 12:40 p.m. and arrived at Taipei International Airport at 3:40 p.m. The flight has marked a major milestone in launching international flights to and from Dong Hoi Airport.
At present, Dong Hoi is one of three domestic airports which allows foreigners to enter and exit the country by using electronic visas.
As scheduled, there will be a total of 13 round-trip flights on the Dong Hoi - Taipei international air route from March 31 to October 13.

Dang Dong Ha, deputy director of the Quang Binh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasised that the launch of the new air route will contribute to enhancing air connectivity between Quang Binh and the East Asia region, thereby further promoting trade exchanges and attracting more international visitors to the locality.
The air service will also open up a wealth of opportunities to promote Quang Binh tourism to Taiwanese and international visitors, he said, adding that the locality plans to connect charter flights with international routes from other countries and upgrade Dong Hoi airport moving forward, Ha added.
