Putaleng Long Distance Paragliding Tournament 2023 opens in Lai Chau

In his opening speech, Vu Xuan Thinh, vice chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Duong district, emphasised that this year’s tournament brings together nearly 100 pilots, including 35 pilots from Australia, the US, the Republic of Korea, the UK, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, France, and China.

The three-day event will provide an ideal platform for pilots to share experience and contribute to promoting the greater development of paragliding in Vietnam, whilst strengthening integration with paragliding sporting activities in Southeast Asia and the world, he noted.

Most notably, the event also offers an ideal opportunity for localities to introduce their beautiful landscapes, cultural characteristics, and residents of Lai Chau province to both domestic and foreign tourists.

It will also contribute to attracting foreign investors, gradually developing Tam Duong district into a safe and attractive destination, as well as creating leverage for the area’s future tourism development.
