Promoting Vietnam – RoK tourism links through digital payment
VOV.VN - The National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS) and representative office of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) in the Republic of Korea (RoK) signed an MoU in Hanoi on February 28 aiming to promote digital payment services between the two countries.
Addressing the event Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Doan Van Viet noted that the tourism industry has always seen the strongest exchange between the two countries, serving as a bridge between Vietnam – RoK diplomatic relations over recent times.
Since 2016 the RoK has ranked second among Vietnam’s main tourist markets, while Vietnam is the RoK’s 10th largest tourism market, he stressed.
Viet said that the signing of the MoU will create favourable conditions for tourists of both countries to travel to each other’s destinations, and contribute to the implementation of Vietnam’s non-cash payment development plan in 2021 - 2025 period.
Lee Chang-kun, Vietnamese Tourism Ambassador to the RoK, shared that developing non-cash payments would help Vietnam make a difference with other countries, and attract more tourists in the future.
He expressed his hope that the two countries' tourism industry would grow well and their relationship would be reinforced in the future.
