Hanoi ranks 8th among world’s most colourful cities: JustCover
VOV.VN - JustCover, part of the Zurich Insurance Group, has released its list of the world’s most colourful cities, with Hanoi ranking eighth.
The Swiss website compiled a list of the most iconic colourful cities across the globe and selected representative photos of each, including aerial or skyline views as well as street-level images showing recognisable landmarks, architecture or neighbourhoods.
Each image was chosen to reflect the location’s typical scenery and was taken in clear daylight without heavy filters. The website then used a colour analysis tool to measure the number of unique colours within each image. The results were combined to calculate an overall vibrancy score using pixel-level data, revealing the most vivid destinations, according to JustCover.
Hanoi ranks eighth, combining vivid buildings and shopfronts, dense street signage and vibrant market stalls. The heart of the city is the Old Quarter, made up of 36 streets, bustling with shops and restaurants spilling onto the pavement, as pedestrians and motorbikes move through the busy streets.
“If you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle, there are several historic temples tucked away in the Old Quarter which offer a peaceful escape,” JustCover said.
Lisbon in Portugal tops the list, with more than 2.6 million unique colours identified in the analysis.
Other cities in the top 10 include Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Porto (Portugal), Cartagena (Colombia), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Guanajuato (Mexico), Havana (Cuba), New Orleans (the US) and Medellín (Colombia).
