Phu Yen, Vietnam Airlines boost tourism development

VOV.VN - Representatives of Vietnam Airlines and the Phu Yen provincial People’s Committee on February 22 signed comprehensive cooperation agreement for the 2023 to 2027 period with a view to establishing cooperative ties based on mutual support, long-term cooperation and common development.

Upon addressing the signing ceremony, Ta Anh Tuan, chairman of the Phu Yen provincial People's Committee, said that Phu Yen boasts great potential to develop its tourism market segment as it is home to a number of beautiful landscapes, as well as a rich and unique culture and cuisine.

Phu Yen views tourism as a key economic sector moving forward, the provincial leader stated, stressing that a  major focus should be on infrastructure investment, investment attraction, and economic development promotion.

Tuan shared that the provincial People’s Council has passed a resolution to develop the 14.2-kilometre seaside road project that links Tuy An district and Tuy Hoa City in a bid to enhance regional transport connectivity and fuel local economic growth.

He revealed that the future will see Phu Yen make greater efforts to attract investors as a means of renovating and upgrading Tuy Hoa airport, increasing parking lots, and passenger service capacity. This will be done with the ultimate aim of turning the Tuy hoa aviation area into an international airport in the future.

Tuan expressed hope that Vietnam Airlines will continue to improve the quality of passenger services, whilst fully exploiting existing routes, gradually increasing the frequency of routes, and attracting more domestic and international flights to Phu Yen.

At the event, Vietnam Airlines also pledged its closer coordination with Phu Yen to boost tourism, as well as investment and trade promotion. This is in addition to studying a plan to increase the frequency of  routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Yen, open more flights to other provinces and cities, as well as exploit several international flights to the province.
