Phetchabun to reform shuttle service along tourist sites

Phetchabun Province is preparing to reform the shuttle service along the popular Phu Thap Boek because of the frequent accidents there.

Phetchabun Governor Piboon Hattakichkosol chaired a meeting along with the head of Phetchabun’s transportation office, Teerasak Heamtanond, security officials, and related agencies to discuss a reform plan for the shuttle services in Phu Thap Boek and Khao Kho.

The Phetchabun Governor said the reorganization effort was prompted by a recent incident in which a shuttle van fell off Phu Thap Boek, resulting in numerous injuries. One of the measures would therefore be to require shuttle service operators to register with the province’s transportation office and undergo regular inspections.

Currently, more than 200 shuttle vans operate in the districts of Khao Kho, Lom Sak, and Lom Kao. Those that register for a license will be able to provide shuttle services throughout the province, as well as in Phitsanulok and Loei.
