Phathat Phanom will be nominated as UNESCO World Heritage Site

Lecture of the Faculty of Industrial Technology, Nakhon Phanom University, Banchong Phulakhon said the Wat Phrathat Phanom model consisted of the Buddha Relic stupa as well as the surrounding areas. The model was aimed at helping people see what the temple would be like in the future, how it would be developed and how it would become a UNESCO World Heritage Site, said the lecturer. 

There will be a museum and a hall to house antiques of the temple. More green spaces will be created and different parts of the temple will be more connected.

The model would also demonstrate the evolution of Phrathat Phanom in four eras, said Mr. Banchong. 

The model was displayed in front of the temple on February 5 for the public to see.
