Online travel fair launched in central Vietnam

VOV.VN - The online travel fair Da Nang FantastiCity 2022 kicked off on March 17 as part of efforts to attract more tourists to the coastal city of Da Nang city and the central region as a whole.

The travel fair was launched after Vietnam reopened its borders to international tourism on March 15.

Addressing the event, Nguyen Xuan Binh, deputy director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, underscored the importance of the event in revitalising the local tourism industry and creating optimal conditions for travel firms and international partners to strengthen connectivity after a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The virtual fair, which aims to deploy digital transformation and apply information technology in tourism development, featured a total of 150 booths of travel companies, as well as over 60 partners from Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, India, and other Southeast Asian countries.

Airlines, tour operators, hotels, and transportation businesses jointly launched a range of promotional programmes and online tours using VR360 virtual reality technology at the event.

Visitors also had the opportunity to receive discounts on tours during prime time from midday to 2 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on March 19 and March 20.

The nine-day event, held by the municipal Department of Tourism and the Viettel Business Solutions Corporation, can be followed at danangfantasticity.com or travelbook.vn/danang.
