Nguyen Hue Flower Street packed with visitors ahead of Tet

VOV.VN - Nguyen Hue Flower Street in Ho Chi Minh City has been packed with local residents and visitors to celebrate the 2023 Lunar New Year, known locally as Tet, after the site’s opening ceremony on January 19

From early morning on January 20, many families donning traditional Tet outfits came to visit and take selfie photos at the Flower Street.

A resident from district 8 says that the flower street is fully arranged to feature the beautiful cat mascot, the symbol of the new year, as well as the full presence of 12 zodiac animals.

She revealed that it is a tradition for her family to visit Nguyen Hue Flower Street on the second or third day of the first lunar month, adding that this year’s flower street is crowded ahead of annual Tet celebrations.

The zone has also received plenty of foreign visitors. Andrea, an American, whose husband is currently working as an engineer in Vietnam, expressed her excitement at the prospect of celebrating Tet, saying that this is the first time she and her family have celebrated the traditional festival in Vietnam and have paid a visit to Nguyen Hue Flower Street.

She added that this represents an ideal and beautiful place in which residents and visitors can come together during Tet, helping them to gain greater insights into traditional Tet celebrations.

For the Lunar New Year this year, Nguyen Hue Flower Street has placed no limits on the number of people who can visit. However, guests are required to don face mask.
