New street vendor market opens in HCM City District 1

VOV.VN - A new street vendor market opened Monday, August 28, on Nguyen Van Chiem Road, in the ward of Ben Nghe in Ho Chi Minh City District 1, local authorities announced at a press conference.

The venue will open daily 6am-9am and 11am-2pm. It has a wide range of fast-dining options along with an active array of other vendors selling traditional street wares, they noted.

Many locals are excited that there's now somewhere like this in District 1 to go for lunch or just to buy some necessities, without having to travel to the larger markets, said Tran The Thuan, chair of the District 1 People’s Committee.

Mr Thuan added that the Committee is weighing their options on opening a second market on Bach Tung Diep Road if everything works out as planned, which would provide yet even more options for residents for breakfast and lunch.
