New service helps preserve solemn atmosphere in temple
Since the beginning of April, visitors to Ngoc Son Temple in Hanoi have been required to dress modestly.
In case they wear inappropriate clothes, they can borrow coats at the entrance. The initiative was devised in an attempt to preserve the solemn atmosphere in worshipping venues.
The Managemnent Board of Ngoc Son Temple relic site has prepared 100 sets of clothes for both men and women in various sizes and colours. With no more scantily-clad visitors, the temple’s solemnity has been preserved.
Not only Ngoc Son temple, many other renowned relic sites in Hanoi will apply the initiative to abide by the municipal tourism code of conduct.
Still, visitors should be well-informed of dress codes when visiting relic sites.
Previously, some renowned tourist attractions in Vietnam, such as Ponagar tower complex in Khanh Hoa and Linh Ung pagoda in Danang, provided clothes-borrowing services to visitors.
