Banh Beo (Water fern cake). It is white in colour and usually has a dimple in the centre, which is covered with savoury recipes including chopped dried or fresh shrimp, scallions, mung bean paste, crispy fried shallots, fish sauce, rice vinegar, and oil. |
Banh Bot Loc (tapioca dumpling). This cake is a chewy dumpling made from tapioca flour and filled with pork and shrimp. The cake is covered in banana leaves and steamed before being served hot with fish sauce. |
