Phung Hiep Market in Hau Giang Province is at the meeting point of seven rivers
Phung Hiep Market in Hau Giang Province came into existence in 1915 and is also known as the Seven Crossings market as it lies at the meeting point of seven rivers. The river-filled Mekong Delta is famous for several “floating” markets, and Phung Hiep is the biggest one. |
Some vendors start their boat engines to head for the market early in the morning. |
The market sells mostly fruits and vegetables, and each boat will put up a pole and hang some samples to let customers know what they are selling. |

While waiting for customers, the vendors raise their boat motors out of the water to keep them from getting rusty. |
