A large number of visitors have flocked to the northern province of Dien Bien, especially to the special national relic site of Dien Bien Phu Battlefield, in the days leading up to the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954-2024).

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Thanh Do said the completion of the upgrade and expansion project of Dien Bien Airport and the reopening of direct flights to the two national largest economic hubs of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have facilitated transportation, investment attraction, and tourism development.
Tourism activities have developed rapidly in the locality, initially forming distinctive and diverse tourism products, he said.

Vice Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Hoang Hiep underlined the necessary to improve the quality and effectiveness of historical relic sites in Dien Bien, thus upholding their value for tourism development.
It requires key solutions to create breakthroughs for the tourism industry, insiders said, adding that Dien Bien must develop distinctive products and seek ways to optimise its potential and advantages in boosting sustainable tourism development.
