Thanks to its strategic location between Da Nang and Hue and upgraded infrastructure, Chan May Port has emerged as a key destination for major cruise liners. As one of only 46 recognised cruise ports in Southeast Asia, it is capable of accommodating ships carrying thousands of passengers and aims to obtain full international certification in the near future.
A representative of Saigontourist said the peak cruise season will run from November this year through April next year. During this period, the company expects to welcome four more international cruise ships, including Celebrity Millennium, which will arrive on November 9 with 1,800 passengers. Three Celebrity Solstice voyages, each carrying around 2,800 passengers, are also scheduled for November 10, November 11, and December 4.
The steady flow of large cruise ships to Chan May Port underscores Hue’s rising profile on the global cruise tourism map. Upon arrival, many passengers joined guided tours to explore Hue, Da Nang, and Hoi An.
