Luxury cruise ship brings 4,400 international visitors to Hue in early 2025
VOV.VN - The Anthem of the Sea of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, harbored at Chan May port in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue on January 9, carrying with it 4,455 foreign tourists and crew members.
These mark the first visitors from the UK, Australia, and the United States to arrive in Hue city via the maritime route this year. After disembarking, nearly 2,000 tourists booked tours to visit popular tourist attractions and sample delicacies around Hue, Da Nang, and Quang Nam
Meanwhile, in Hue city, more than 500 tourists visited popular places in the locality, including the Imperial City, King Tu Duc’s tomb, and Thien Mu Pagoda
According to details given by the Hue City Department of Tourism, at present up to 49 cruise ships with nearly 99,998 visitors and 39,212 crew members onboard have registered to dock at Chan May Port in the year ahead.
With a wide range of activities and events taking place during the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival in 2025, the central city expects to attract about between 4.8 million and 5 million visitors, with the number of foreign arrivals making up 40% of total visitors, earning a tourism revenue of more than VND10,800 billion.
Last year, the local tourism industry welcomed a total of 40 cruise vessels who docked at Chan May Port with more than 90,000 visitors and crew members onboard.
