Khanh Hoa welcomes over 1.5 million Chinese visitors in seven months
VOV.VN - The seven-month period saw the number of Chinese tourists to the south-central province of Khanh Hoa surge by 142 per cent to more than 1.51 million in comparison with the same period last year, according to figures released by the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism.
Elsewhere, the influx of visitors from European nations such as the UK, France, and Germany, in addition to countries such as Australia and Canada, saw falls of between 8 per cent and 28 per cent.
Throughout the reviewed period, the total number of foreign arrivals visiting Khanh Hoa increased by over 129 per cent to more than 2.1 million.
Nha Trang city in Khanh Hoa province has seen an increase in international arrivals in recent years, with a large number of guests coming from China and Russia. Currently, the local tourism sector has boosted activities in a bid to attract more Asian tourists, especially from the RoK, Japan, Thailand, and Malaysia.
This upsurge in the number of foreign arrivals has greatly contributed to accelerating the province’s socio-economic development, generating more jobs, and increasing incomes for residents through business and service activities.
Despite the upswing in visitor numbers, the province’s tourism sector still suffers from several limitations such as online payment methods, the illegal exchange of foreign currency, and prolonged traffic congestion.
