Khanh Hoa prepares for National Tourism Year 2019
The south central coastal province of Khanh Hoa has drastically carried out preparations for activities of the Vietnam Tourism Year 2019 as it is the host.

Tran Son Hai, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Khanh Hoa will organise the biennial Nha Trang Sea Festival in 2019.
In March this year, the province set up an organising board to carry out tasks of the Vietnam Tourism Year 2019.
As one of Vietnam’s popular coastal tourist destinations, Nha Trang has been listed as one of the most beautiful bay in the world. The number of visitors to the locality has been rising through years.
Since 2006, the locality has hosted many large-scale beauty contests, including Miss Vietnam World, Miss Vietnam, Miss Earth, Miss Universe Vietnam and Miss Universe.
Khanh Hoa is the only locality in the country that has hosted the Sea Festival every two years since 2003, which has drawn a large number of visitors.
According to Nguyen Dac Tai, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa, the Nha Trang Sea Festival aims to introduce and promote marine culture, the land and people of Khanh Hoa, as well as the image of a dynamic country which is actively integrating into the world and expanding friendship and cooperation with international friends.
With over 180km of coastline and many bays, islands and sand beaches, along with sunny weather through the year, Khanh Hoa has been popular among tourists.
Currently, Khanh Hoa has over 650 accommodation facilities, including 90 three to five-star hotels.
The locality has worked to develop new tourist destinations, including Cam Ranh and Van Phong bays to reduce pressures to Nha Trang.
According to Tran Viet Trung, head of the provincial Department of Tourism, in 2017, Khanh Hoa welcomed nearly 5.5 million of tourists staying overnight, including over 2 million foreigners, a surge of 69% over the previous year, along with over 20 tourists who came and left within a day. Its tourism revenue hit about VND17.3 trillion.
