International media highlights Vietnam’s growing night-time tourism
VOV.VN - International media have drawn attention to Vietnam’s expanding night-time tourism, from record-setting nightly fireworks displays in Phu Quoc to the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival.
According to Travel + Leisure Asia, nightly fireworks shows in Phu Quoc have been setting consecutive records while attracting visitors to the island.
Since January 2024, the island has staged fireworks displays for more than 750 consecutive nights, reinforcing its reputation as a year-round destination for evening entertainment.
Each evening, visitors gather at Sunset Town on the island’s southwestern coast to watch the fireworks. The Kiss Bridge has become one of the most popular viewing spots.
Travel + Leisure Asia also noted that Phu Quoc currently hosts two large multimedia performances- Symphony of the Sea and Kiss of the Sea, combining light, music and storytelling.
“This nightly spectacle offers travellers yet another reason to visit Phu Quoc, complementing its natural bounty,” the magazine wrote, referring to the island’s beaches, nature and hospitality services.
The outlet also suggested that visitors can relax on Kem Beach, known for its fine white sand, while enjoying water sports, boat tours, sunset sailing and diving.
Meanwhile, the coastal city of Da Nang has gained international attention through the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival. First launched in 2008, the event has expanded from a two-day competition into a large cultural festival lasting several weeks. This year’s festival takes place along the Han River under the theme “Da Nang – United Horizons”, featuring 10 international teams competing over six nights from May 30 to July 11.
Each performance combines fireworks and music in themed displays reflecting Da Nang’s natural landscape, cultural heritage and development aspirations.
“From Phu Quoc’s record-breaking nightly illuminations and Da Nang’s globally acclaimed festival to fireworks celebrations across the country, Vietnam is redefining after-dark travel,” Travel + Leisure Asia concluded.
