Ice and frost at Fansipan’s peak impress visitors
VOV.VN - On the morning of November 1, tourists were amazed to find ice and frost lining the rocks and pagoda on the peak of Fansipan mountain in the northern province of Lao Cai.
On the night of October 31, temperatures in Sapa dropped to 10 degree Celsius whilst temperatures at the peak of Fansipan mountain plummeted to zero degree Celsius |
Thin ice can be seen on the edge of rocks, the pagoda, banisters and the flagpole. This is the first time that frost has appeared at the peak of Fansipan since early October. |

The frost and ice are attributed to low temperatures in the north which began on October 30 and cold air sweeping through the region. |
According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the night of November 1, and into the early morning of November 2, ice and frost are likely grip to Fansipan. The temperatures will gradually rise in Sapa in the coming days. |
