Hundreds of flights added amid surging holiday demand

VOV.VN - Vietnamese airlines have put on hundreds of additional flights in a bid to serve the extra travel demand ahead of the coming five-day national break to mark National Reunification Day (April 30) and May Day (May 1).

Between April 26 and May 5, national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and Vietnam Air Services Company (VASCO) will add nearly 2,800 domestic flights with a total of 551,000 seats. Most flights will link Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with the tourism hubs such as Nha Trang, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Da Lat, and Hue.

In addition, national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines is running more than 50 routes to international destinations in Asia, Europe, Australia and the United States.

Meanwhile, Bamboo Airways plans to supply 25,000 seats per day on domestic routes, marking a rise of 15% compared to normal. The airline plans to increase the frequency throughout the network, focusing on key routes from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang to such tourist destinations such as, Quy Nhon, Phu Quoc, and Nha Trang.

According to Bamboo Airways, around 90% of flights during the holidays have already been fully booked.

To prepare for the peak holiday season, airlines have increased human resources to ensure safe operation and best service quality possible for passengers.

Passengers are recommended to purchase tickets from websites, mobile applications, agents, and official ticket offices. They can make use of self-check-in services before the flight to save time, such as automatic check-in, website, and mobile application.
