Hue golden tourism week promotions announced

The Hue Monuments Conservation Centre in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue announced the 2016 Golden Tourism Week promotional programmes on December 26.
The centre’s Director Phan Thanh Hai said the first promotional tourism week will take place from April 23-29 next year in response to the Festival Hue 2016 scheduled for April 29-May 4.
The second week will be organised from September 2 to 8 to celebrate the National Day (September 2) while the third week will take place from December 24 to 30 to welcome the 2017 New Year.
In the promotional programmes, the centre will organise a number of activities and events with fantastic discounts, said the director.
In 2015, four promotional weeks was held in Hue, contributing to a sharp increase of tourists to the ancient imperial city.
On t he same day, the centre awarded the 2,000,100th and 2,000,200th tourists visiting the relic site in 2015. The lucky tourists received gift packages worth VND25 million (nearly US$1,000) and VND35 million (over US$1,500), respectively.
By December 25, the Hue relic site welcomed over 2 million tourists, including nearly 1.05 million foreigners, up 13% from a year ago.
Revenue from the entrance tickets reached about VND205 billion (nearly US$9 million), up VND65 billion (US$2.8 million) from 2014.
