Hoi An named among Asia’s top 8 family-friendly holiday destinations
VOV.VN - The ancient town of Hoi An has been named one of the eight best family-friendly holiday destinations in Asia by UK-based magazine Time Out.

According to the magazine, Asia is “a goldmine for families” seeking vacation spots that appeal even to “the pickiest of kids”, with Hoi An standing out among the top recommendations.
Time Out wrote that while Vietnam is often perceived as chaotic, “in Hoi An, things tend to slow to a molasses pace.” The riverside town boasts an ancient Old Town, tranquil rice fields, and long stretches of beach. “Travelers can ride between these sights, stopping for a coconut coffee, a lantern-making class, or a tailor shop for custom-made clothes,” it added.
The magazine also suggested several must-try experiences for families. Visitors are encouraged to stop by Madame Khanh, known as “The Banh Mi Queen”, for a quick snack before heading to LiMe, a stylish tailor famous for her linen designs.
For accommodation, Time Out recommended the Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, which features a kids’ club, immersive cooking classes, and “some of the warmest staff around.” Another option is the Namia River Retreat, which offers pool villas, complimentary yoga and daily spa treatments, sunset cruises on the Thu Bon River, and “an adorable kids’ club.”

In addition to Hoi An, the magazine also highlighted Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as two of the best destinations in Asia for solo travelers. It described Vietnam as a compelling country to explore alone, thanks to its “unique beauty and complicated history.”
“The country has grown into a popular travelling hotspot, and that’s led to a thriving social scene – the well-established tourist route means it should be really easy to meet like-minded travelers to journey alongside,” the magazine noted.
For solo visitors, Time Out recommended Hanoi’s Ta Hien Street and Ho Chi Minh City’s Bui Vien Street as lively gathering spots where backpackers can meet fellow travelers and enjoy “the vibrant atmosphere, numerous bars and restaurants, and affordable accommodation.”
