Ho Chi Minh City set to digitise 100 famous tourist attractions

VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has initiated plans to digitise 100 famous tourist destinations located throughout the southern city in an effort to attract more tourists, said Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, director of the city’s department of tourism.

The digitalisation process will be carried out at major tourist attractions, including the War Remnants Museum, the Reunification Palace, the Central Post Office, and Ho Chi Minh Museum.

These sites will see the installation of interface for 360-degree images, 3D, virtual reality technology, and the application of interactive QR Code technology in order to provide visitors with a fresh insights into the southern city.

The department has also encouraged tourist destinations to implement digitalisation as a means of developing the smart tourism model in the city this year.

Along with assisting destinations in accelerating the digital transformation process, the department has also formulated tourism promotion strategies.

It plans to launch tours to key domestic and international markets, carry out applications of tourism brand identity in the southern metropolis, introduce destinations in the city through short films, and elevate the travel brand “Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City, said Hoa.
