Ho Chi Minh City announces list of 100 Interesting Things
VOV.VN - The list of “HCM City-100 interesting things” was released on December 3 by the southern city’s Department of Tourism.
The programme themed “Vibrant experiences” features a total of 10 categories covering 10 exciting sightseeing programmes; 10 exciting attractions; 10 interesting entertainment spots; 10 interesting shopping spots; 10 interesting tourist accommodation establishments; 10 interesting restaurants; 10 interesting coffee shops; 10 interesting tourism, cultural, and sporting events; 10 interesting check-in places; and 10 interesting delicacies.
According to the list, bánh mì (Vietnamese sandwich), bánh tráng trộn (Vietnamese Girdle Cake), bánh xèo (Vietnamese pancakes), cơm tấm (broken rice), and hủ tiếu (Vietnamese rice noodle soup with pork and shrimp) were all named among the 10 interesting delicacies.
Meanwhile, the Ao Dai Museum, War Remnants Museum, Independence Palace, and Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon featured among the top 10 exciting attractions.
In 2022, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism kicked off voting for 100 interesting things aimed at promoting the southern city as an attractive tourist destination.
The organising board received more than 104,000 votes on the website https://100e.visithcmc.vn/ from the public.
Nguyen Van Dung, vice chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that the “100 interesting things” list aims to select appealing tourism products and services throughout the city in a bid to introduce them to domestic and foreign tourists.
He also went on to express his hope that the selected units will continue to maintain and improve their service quality, thereby further contributing to enhancing the tourism brand and competitiveness of the southern metropolis.
