HCM City proposes breakthrough solutions to develop night-time tourism

VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has put forward a range of breakthrough solutions aimed at promoting night-time tourism across the city.

According to the proposal submitted to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, HCM City plans to expand themed programmes, events, and night-time experiences, featuring notable activities such as historical re-enactment shows at the Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site and the Cu Chi Traditional House.

Unique night tours and experiences include double-decker night bus tours, Saigon River cruises, sunset river tours, and fine dining on luxury riverboats.

Cultural and artistic performances, including traditional folk shows, open-air cinema, circus acts, and lion-dragon dance performances, will be staged, contributing to the development of distinctive cultural tourism products.

In addition, the city is enhancing night-time culinary and service zones at key locations, including Bui Vien Walking Street, Vinh Khanh dining street, the area in front of the Quang Trung–Ho Thi Ky flagpole, Nguyen Thuong Hien food street, Food Street Market, and the Hoa Binh Water Music Square.

Night-time shopping and entertainment opportunities are also to be available at major commercial centres like Takashimaya, AEON, Lotte Mart, Emart, themed shopping streets, and the lively Nguyen Hue Walking Street, which regularly hosts live performances.

Elsewhere, wellness and beauty services, including those offered at spas, beauty salons, and healthcare centres, are being promoted in tandem with medical tourism to enrich nighttime experiences.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism also plans to launch initiatives to attract investment in integrated night-time tourism complexes that combine entertainment and cultural performances, especially along the Saigon River to enhance the city’s nightlife offerings and visitor experiences.
