Hanoi records four million international arrivals in 2016

Hanoi expects international arrivals in the city will reach a record four million this year, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.

The success is attributable to Hanoi’s policy to prioritise tourism and make focused investment on selective projects.

Following the establishment of the Tourism Department, the city has concentrated investment on diversifying tourism products based on the local advantages in terms of historic, cultural and landscape values.

Emphasis was put on service quality and the capital city’s brand.

The city has also boosted cooperation with other provinces and cities to organise promotion events, while actively taking part in international tourism fairs.

Hanoi has plans to advertise its tourism on the CNN television channel.

The city will continue investing in technical infrastructure serving tourism development, including telecom and IT networks.
