Hanoi offers free double-decker tour to Thai athletes and coaches
VOV.VN - Several athletes and coaches of Thailand who are currently participating in the ongoing 31st SEA Games were offered a free double decker tour of the capital on May 18.
The double-decker bus service was co-organised by the Hanoi Department of Tourism in co-ordination with the Hanoi Transport Corporation.
During the course of the one-hour tour, the bus passed through 15 popular destinations in the capital, including the Hanoi Opera House, St. Joseph's Cathedral, Hanoi Flag Tower, President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Hoa Lo prison, the Vietnamese Women’s Museum, and Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam, also known as the Temple of Literature.
Pairoj Archarungroj, a representative of the Thai shuttlecock kicking team, said the trip has provided their athletes with a range of interesting experiences and a wonderful time in which they can relax after a stressful period of practice and competition.
He later unveiled his plans to return to Vietnam in order to visit the coastal city of Da Nang in the future. This is also the first time that Thai athletes and coaches have had the chance to experience traveling around Hanoi on a double-decker bus.
A representative of Hanoi City Tour’s operator Yen Vien Bus Enterprise said the firm has served two delegations of visitors from Thailand and India since May 12.
Furthermore, several athletes, coaches, and delegates attending the 31 SEA Games have had the chance to experience the "Hanoi City Tour" free of charge.
Nguyen Van Hung, deputy director of Yen Vien Bus Enterprise, revealed that SEA Games 31 provides a good opportunity to elevate the image of Hanoi and help international visitors gain greater insights into Vietnamese history, culture, and hospitality of local people.
