Hanoi, HCM City among most popular city destinations this summer
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese capital of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have been named among the most popular city destinations this summer, as compiled by leading travel analytics firm ForwardKeys.
According to the list, Hanoi is ranked 76th in the world, up 41 places, while the southern metropolis finds its at 52nd, up 30 places compared to the previous rankings.
Leading the way as the most popular city this summer is Bangkok, far ahead of the second most searched destination, Paris. Other destinations named in the top 10 include this likes of London, Denpasar, Barcelona, New York, Lisbon, Istanbul, Madrid, and Athens.
The top 10 list features highest climbers dominated by Asian and Australasian cities, which were still subject to some of the strictest pandemic travel regulations last summer.
The highest climber was Taipei, up 161 places to 56th, followed by Hong Kong, up 129 places to 39th, Seoul, up 56 places to 35th, Tokyo, up 53 places to 13th, Hanoi, up 41 places to 76th, and Auckland, up 41 places to 103rd. This is along with Melbourne, up 31 places to 75th, Ho Chi Minh City, up 30 places to 52nd, Kuala Lumpur, up 24 places to 14th, and Phuket, up 24 places to 57th.
