Hanoi enjoys surge in tourist arrivals in July
VOV.VN - The capital welcomed approximately 1.2 million visitors throughout July, representing a 51.2% rise compared to the previous month, according to data released by the Hanoi Municipal Department of Tourism.
Of the total figure, 16,600 were foreigners, up 26.9% from the previous month.
The tourism sector earned an estimated revenue of VND3.475 trillion, equivalent to US$151.4 million, representing an increase of 50.2% against June .
Overall, the first seven months of the year has seen 6.13 million travelers visit the capital, an annual decrease of 63.3%. A total of 1 million foreigners and 5.13 million domestic tourists made up the overall figure, with the capital’s total tourism earnings reaching VND22,426 billion.
Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Tran Trung Hieu says the department will continue to apply information technology for use in tourism management. In addition, relevant agencies, organisations, and travel firms will be advised to strictly implement regulations relating to novel coronavirus prevention and control.
The department will also strive to boost tourism promotion activities and
expand connectivity for tourism development.
