Hanoi attracts over 1.7 million foreign arrivals in five months
VOV.VN - The capital of Hanoi welcomed 1.71 million foreign arrivals during the first five months of the year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
They were among 10 million holidaymakers visiting the capital city in the reviewed period, up 53.9% year on year, reported the department.
The city also earned VND37 trillion from tourism services, representing a year-on-year rise of 92.4%.
May alone witnessed Hanoi receive over two million travellers, including 316,300 foreigners, earning more than VND7.260 trillion in revenue.
To attract tourists, the city has offered free double-decker bus services for travellers during national holidays, including Hung Kings Commemoration Day, Reunification Day, and International Workers’ Day.
Hanoi will continue to accelerate digital transformation in tourism activities. The database software of the entire tourism industry, dulich.myhanoi.vn, will soon be deployed and put into operation.
Furthermore, an electronic ticketing system will also be built at several popular tourist destinations, such as the Temple of Literature, the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, Hoa Lo Prison, and Huong Pagoda.
