Hanoi and Hoi An voted among world’s 25 best destinations by TripAdvisor readers
VOV.VN - The capital of Hanoi and the ancient city of Hoi An featured among 25 best destinations globally for 2025, as voted for by readers of the world's largest travel guidance platform TripAdvisor.
The two Vietnamese destinations successfully surpassed several other famous sites from across the world, such as Phuket of Thailand, New York of the United States, and the Maldives to take top positions in the Travelers’ Choice Awards.
Coming in seventh position was the charming Vietnamese capital of Hanoi which has aged well, preserving its famous Old Quarter, various monuments, and colonial architecture, while also making room for modern developments.
TripAdvisor suggested that tourists visit sightseeing spots which are popular among international tourists such as Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Hoa Lo Prison.
Lakes, parks, shady boulevards, and more than 600 temples and pagodas add to the appeal of the famous city, which can easily be explored by taxi, it added.
Elsewhere, Hoi An, in 11th position, is a well-preserved example of the important Southeast Asian trading port from the 15th to 19th centuries.
London of the UK topped the list, followed by Bali of Indonesia and Dubai of the United Arab Emirates.
Other Asian representatives were also listed, including Siem Reap of Cambodia in 14th, position, Phuket of Thailand in 16th, Kathmandu of Nepal in 21st, and New Delhi of India in 22nd.
The Travelers’ Choice Awards aims to celebrate the highest level of excellence in travel, being awarded to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the TripAdvisor community over a 12-month period.
